Vesti: designing a clearer ticket purchase and management experience

The challenge

Buying a ticket does not end at payment. People also need to understand what they are purchasing, review fees and add-ons, find their ticket, identify its status, and share it with someone else when necessary. The challenge for Vesti was to turn these tasks into predictable journeys with clear hierarchy and recognizable actions across mobile and desktop.

The project focused on two flows:

  • Ticket purchase, from event discovery to payment confirmation.
  • E-ticket assignment and transfer from the My Tickets section.

What we did

Research and evaluation

The process included stakeholder interviews, needs analysis, and a review of user feedback. We assessed usability using Nielsen's heuristics, along with contrast and accessibility checks. This diagnosis helped identify friction and set priorities before design began.

Competitive benchmark

The January 2024 benchmark compared Vesti with Eventbrite, Puntoticket, Ticketplus, Ecopass, Passline, Fever, and Welcu. The analysis identified opportunities in the overall experience and functionality, while recording existing capabilities such as the mobile app and named tickets.

Journey architecture

We mapped user flows to make decisions, alternatives, and end states visible. The purchase flow connected discovery, categories, event pages, ticket and product selection, checkout, and access either through an account or as a guest. The transfer flow organized ticket selection, assignment method, and the available sharing channels.

Wireframes and interface

Mid-fidelity wireframes allowed us to iterate on structure, hierarchy, and information density before moving into visual design. The final interface uses a dark aesthetic, magenta accents, modular cards, and persistent calls to action that keep the next step visible.

A solution for every moment

The home page supports event discovery by location, search, featured content, or category. Event pages bring together the information needed to evaluate an option, while the purchase flow separates tickets, add-ons, order summary, and confirmation. The e-ticket screen then brings status, QR code, assignment, download, and transfer into one place.

Results

Sales of suggested products increased by 76%, while the average order value grew by 28%, according to business results later shared by the client. These figures accompanied a purchase experience that brought tickets and add-ons into the same journey.

The project fully defined the two priority flows and produced more than 72 screens. The work helped to:

  • Better understand the needs and expectations of Vesti users.
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability and accessibility.
  • Design clearer journeys for purchasing, assigning, and transferring tickets.
  • Unify the mobile and desktop experience through a consistent visual direction.
  • Deliver a foundation of wireframes and high-fidelity screens ready for validation and implementation.
